Key Largo

We took this photo from an intercoastal waterway in Key Largo. Although it may look like concrete or rock in the photo, the walls of the intercoastal are actually coral. when you look up close, you can see the "fossils" left by the different critters that used to live in the coral. I thought it was so neat how the tree's roots spread out across the coral.
John Harrison's first boat ride.
We went out on a boat for an eco-tour in Key Largo. The boat ride took us through the tip of the Everglades; we saw lots of beautiful birds and dense mangrove "forests" as well as some amazing oceanfront homes. Thankfully, the boat had a canopy so we were able to be in the shade most of the time. John Harrison did really well except for when the boat stopped.
