Decorating for Christmas

"just woke up"
"look at me standing up on my own!"
David put up a few thousand lights (number of bulbs, not strands) last weekend. I couldn't get a good picture of the lights, but wanted to post one. I promise that the lights look much better in person than in the picture!!
In front of recently-decorated holly bushes.
John Harrison was a big help to Dad while decorating our tree last weekend.

This is a fairly recent development that John Harrison started relaxing sometimes when we hold him.
Raleigh is proud of our living room Christmas decor.

Another shot of David and John Harrison decorating the tree. Happy Thanksgiving!! More pictures of this weekend to come soon.....

My sister's wedding

Dad walking Margaret down the aisle at the rehearsal
My two favorite people. David trimmed up his "mountain man" beard for the wedding.

Matt and Margaret, the happy couple!
It's hard to believe that my sister's wedding was two weeks ago! Happy two week anniversary, Margaret and Matt! My mom did an excellent job of capturing the weekend on film. I, on the other hand, took less than five pictures---all of them were of John Harrison and/or David traveling or in the hotel room. David and I enjoyed the wedding festivities and had fun being around family and friends throughout the weekend! John Harrison got to attend his third bridesmaids' lunchen since he was born! John Harrison told me that he is counting on that one being the last all-female luncheon he ever attends. The wedding and reception were both lovely and Matt and Margaret were glowing the entire day!
John Harrison got to enjoy his first First Class flight on the way to Orlando---when we accepted the complimentary ugradge, we hoped that we wouldn't regret our decision. John Harrison did really well and slept most of the flight. John Harrison had a cold for the week and a half leading up to the weekend and thankfully, was on the mend by the time we got on the plane on Thursday. However, for the 9 or 10 day he had been sick, John Harrison had woken up 3-5 times each night, which took its toll on all of us. John Harrison did really well during the day while we were in Florida, but the nights were a totally different story. Due to the change of environment and routine, John Harrison woke up 6-10 times per night the three nights we were in Orlando. At one point during some of the wedding pictures, the photographer told the bridesmaids to do a "sexy" pose. I said out loud that I didn't have any sexy left in me. I did manage to oblige and put my hand on my hip at the photographer's insistance.
John Harrison had a meltdown in the airport and during the first 15 minutes of the flight going home. Thankfully, we did not get upgraded to first class on the flight home--it was bad enough being in coach and trying everything to get our baby to stop crying (actually--it was more like screaming/wailing) to no avail! I was so, so glad when John Harrison stopped crying---I'm sure everyone else on the plane was, as well!! John Harrison was just completely exhausted.....his daytime goodness had come to an end. I was so happy that we had been able to be a part of my sister and new brother-in-law's special day, but was very much relieved to be back home Sunday afternoon:).

Picture Overload

Taking a nap on the floor in Mom and Dad's room

David carved our pumpkin to have a "John Harrison" smile--two teeth on the top, two on the bottom

Precious little boy taking a nap
On the plane headed for Aunt Margaret's wedding

Exhausted.....sleeping on the hotel bed (well, at least for a few minutes...sleep didn't come in very long chunks the weekend of my sister's wedding)
Up to something mischevious!
One of my favorite new pictures (taken today)

"What is Dad doing with all those lights??"

Cutest four toothed worm around

see all four teeth!!
Enjoying time with Aunt Caroline

John Harrison and his worm are twins
I think that David and I had more fun dressing up John Harrison for Halloween than he had being dressed up. John Harrison was such an adorable little worm! The cutest thing was watching him squirm around on the floor in his costume. I think that John Harrison will have a lot more fun with Halloween once he can trick-or-treat for candy.
